Silas: We were running short of funds and so we decided to have our wedding low-key. But as the Lord turned the water into wine, He blessed the meager arrangements and turned them out to be grand beyond our comprehension.
We tried to cut down the costs as much as possible and eliminate the less important things. Part of it was the weekday morning wedding plan, that would discourage all those who’d only want to come for a evening reception to greet, give a gift, eat and leave. We only wanted to have those who’ll value the wedding ceremony and only those who are willing to pay the price to be part of the celebration.
Jesse: While waiting on the Lord for His will, yet not sure who was the one, God spoke to me many times through His word to encourage and build me up. Once when I was feeling very low in my spirit, I happened to be reading through the book of Zechariah. I stumbled upon the phrase the 24th day of the 11th month (Zech. 1:7), The Lord comforted me by giving me this phrase as a promise for my wedding. I eagerly looked up for this day with faith and even confessed my faith to my uncle and aunt that wasn’t going to be with them to celebrate my birthday by the end of the year 2016.
The day we met each other in Bangalore and the wedding day was to be finalized, I was hesitant to mention this date, as there wasn’t much time and it was too close. The Lord led my aunt to press me and share my desire for the wedding day to fall on this day.
It also was both of our desire to have brother Zac solemnize our wedding, so we wanted to confirm if he’d be available on that date. And as it was His time for us to be wedded, brother Zac too was available on that day.
And so we were wedded on the 24th day of the 11th month…
